Telehealth
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth Counseling sessions are similar to in-person sessions with your therapist, but instead of coming into the office, you and your counselor meet in a comfortable place of your choosing using interactive audio and video technology.
Virtual visits with your counselor are HIPAA compliant in order to protect your privacy and confidentiality.
There is no additional cost to you – your insurance company will cover the sessions the same way, and you can use your computer or smartphone. Patients participate in sessions from home or from any confidential location determined appropriate by the patient and their clinician.
If a client does not have the technical capability to participate in sessions from home (no internet connection or access to smart phones with cellular connection) they can participate in therapy by making alternative arrangement.
While being in the same room with your therapist may be preferred, there are times when telehealth is the most ideal service delivery. Telehealth reduces commute time and cost, allows client to choose meeting place (within Iowa state lines), allows sessions to continue during poor weather or illness, and allows rural community access to premium medical care.
Although RCC uses SimplePractice for HIPAA compliance and security, in many ways, telehealth can feel very similar to video chatting with your friends or family through Facetime or Facebook Messenger. If you have done that before, you can easily make the switch to telehealth! We will help you get connected the first time.
Finding a counselor to connect and resonate with is half of the battle when seeking therapy services. My personality is relaxed, professional, and approachable.
Faith Based
I offer counseling and art therapy while specializing in Christian perspective and biblical theology.
My Approach
I would be considered a more “cognitive” therapist in the sense that we will discuss topics deeply and peel back layers. I process with my clients in a holistic, person-centered way.
Years Of Experience
I have been practicing as a clinical mental health therapist for 4+ years in the state of Iowa. I also served as a student mental health therapist in South Dakota, Kansas, and Missouri for an additional 3+ years during my time in graduate school. I have worked in addiction settings (both inpatient and outpatient), correctional facilities, trauma centers, grief camps, faith-based outpatient facilities, under federal government contract as a mental health consultant, and in outpatient private practice.
Dedicated Support
I will always seek to support you and advocate for you. I answer my phone, texts, and emails much faster than most mental health providers! You are my client, you are my priority.
Local Services
RCC is proud to offer the entire state of Iowa counseling services via telehealth as it makes counseling more convenient and accessible to rural communities.
